Shorts in Schools
Kids love short films. Engage your students with New Zealand's leading short film festival. Show Me Shorts offers free resources for teachers to guide you in setting up exercises around studying and making your own films in the classroom. We can also bring a collection of short films to present at your school for a small fee. These programmes are aimed at supporting teachers of upper primary level tamariki aged 7-12 years. Introduce your students to the magic of cinema and inspire their imaginations.

Teaching Resources
Show Me Shorts has developed teaching resources to help encourage kids into filmmaking. These resources have been used and refined through several school holiday programmes and are now available to help teachers design lesson plans.
We have two plans: a teaching plan for when filmmaking equipment is available (a camera and shotgun mic) and a teaching plan for when only ipads or similar devices are available. You’re welcome to download the PDFs with these teaching plans and adapt and develop as you wish.
